Corporate Lunch Raises Support for Queensland Youth Mentoring Programs

The latest Inspiring Brighter Futures Foundation Corporate Fundraising & Networking Lunch brought together business leaders, community advocates and supporters for an inspiring afternoon focused on connection, collaboration and creating opportunities for young people across Queensland. 

Held at The Eatery, Story Bridge Hotel in Kangaroo Point, the event highlighted the power of partnerships in helping young people build confidence, resilience and brighter futures through mentoring and wellbeing initiatives. 

A key highlight of the event was a thought-provoking presentation from special guest speaker Paul Fairweather, the award-winning architect, artist, entrepreneur and TEDxBrisbane co-founder. Drawing on his diverse career and life experiences, Paul shared engaging stories and insights about creativity, leadership and innovation, encouraging attendees to think differently, embrace opportunities and use their influence to make a positive impact in their communities. He also provided some copies of his book, ‘Bold Brave and a bit Quirky’. 

The lunch also provided an opportunity for guests to learn more about the growing impact of Inspiring Brighter Futures Foundation and its commitment to empowering young people through targeted mentoring and wellbeing programs. Attendees heard how these initiatives are helping students develop essential life skills, navigate personal challenges and build meaningful connections that support long-term success.

Presentations were provided by Inspiring Brighter Futures Foundation Founder and CEO John Godwin, Foundation Programs Coordinator Jodi Brown and mentor Ken Melia. 

Wines were generously provided again by Darren Davis from Davis & White Fine Wine Merchants, this time showcasing wines from Langmeil Winery in the Barossa Valley.

“Together, we can continue creating opportunities that help young people believe in themselves, belong in their communities and grow into confident future leaders.”

Throughout the afternoon, guests connected with their peers and community changemakers who share a passion for investing in the next generation. Conversations centred on the important role that businesses can play in strengthening communities, whether through partnerships, sponsorships, fundraising or volunteering.
