The dedicated volunteer team at Inspiring Brighter Futures Foundation (IBFF) is beyond excited to be announced as the beneficiary for the 2022 Xavier Charity Stag Dinner.
The annual event – only made possible with thanks to its volunteer-based team – commits to helping foundations which focus on helping others and has raised over $4.2 million for its beneficiaries to date.
Celebrating its 62nd year, the Xavier Society has chosen to support IBFF, an organisation which also aims to provide support for those in our local communities who need it the most.
At IBFF, we work closely with people of all ages and backgrounds, including victims of domestic violence, unemployed parents, students and youth at risk, mental health sufferers, indigenous teenagers, young adults transitioning to work and from hospital care, homeless people, refugees, and ex-offenders.
For over a decade, IBFF’s team of dedicated volunteers have been delivering programs, experiences and events to groups and individuals, teaching them to look at life with an ‘Onwards and Upwards’ approach.
With Queensland’s long term unemployment rate increasing, our ‘Onwards and Upwards’ program aims to teach vital life skills to lessen this number, including:
IBFF’s Significant Return on Social Investment (SROI) proves how the group’s commitment has shaped thousands of lives for the better.
One profound example is seen through the story of Taine**, who took part in a group program in 2020 with other kids from his school, after struggling with academically.
Taine positively engaged himself in every workshop and completed the course with a more positive outlook on his education and himself.
Since fulfilling the program Taine has lost over 30 kg, improved his school grades, and has started playing in a well-recognised basketball team.
He says our program helped spark his mindset and life change.
“This is one of the many success stories we see each program. These success stories are only achieved because of partners such as the Xavier Society and those who sponsor the Xavier Dinner, including Ord Minnett, Robert Oatley, Mazda Newstead, Victoria Park Golf Complex, A.G. Designer Jeweller, The Standard Market Company, and all others who have supported this amazing event – thank you,” IBFF Founder John Godwin said.
This year’s spectacular Xavier Charity Stag Dinner event will be held on Thursday, 18 August from 6.30pm at the Victoria Park Golf Complex in Herston.
